The Part That Gives Life To Your Car

One of the most important parts of the car is the engine. Without the engine the car will not move by itself. You will not be able to use many of the other parts of the car like the air conditioner, radio, heater, and many more. From the above it is clear that the engine is a vital part of the car. In essence the engine of a car is an internal combustion engine. The engine is there to convert thermal energy obtained from the burning of fuel into mechanical energy. You can further divide the internal engine into four stroke and two stroke engines. Under four stroke engine you will find petrol engine and diesel engine.

The basic parts of a diesel engine are intake valve, fuel injector, exhaust valve, piston and cylinder.

The four strokes of an internal engine are intake stroke, compression stroke, power stroke, and exhaust stroke.

The intake stroke is the stroke during which air enters the cylinder through the intake valve. During this stroke the piston goes down and the exhaust valve is closed.

The compression stroke is the stroke during which the air is compressed. During this stroke the piston goes up and the both the intake and exhaust valve are closed.

The power stroke is the stroke during which the fuel in injected into the cylinder using the fuel injector. The fuel ignites due to the high temperature of the compressed air. The piston goes down and both the intake and exhaust valves are closed.

The exhaust stroke is the stroke during which the exhaust gases flow out through the exhaust valve. The piston moves up and the intake valve is closed.

If the engine of your car either breaks down or stops working, you have two options. Buy a new engine or a used engine. Buying a used engine would be better. There are plenty of used engines in the market that would fit the bill. You can find many companies that sell used engines. Latest reviews of complaints consumers have find that a used engine is a better investment in cars older than 3 years due to the overall cost and depreciation of the car itself. It does not make sense to spend $4K-$6K on a new engine with a car that is only worth $8K when you can get that same one for under $1,500 used with a 90-180 day warranty.
